`Dexless
When you trade new pokémon from colosseum to ruby/sapphire they don't show up on your pokédex. That's no fun.

Rock Love
The female tyranitar I snagged on Colosseum took a fancy to an aggron (steel/rock) I caught on Sapphire and they made little larvitar eggs. She wasn't the least bit interested in golem (rock/ground) or cacturine (grass/dark).

Bear Love
I found my Ursaring a mate on the first try. She fancies Zangoose, but thier offspring only seem to inherit his slash move, but neither pursuit, crush claw nor false swipe. Looks like more experimenting.

The next go `round was with a manectric that knew crunch and thief as an egg move from some previous breeding. The resulting teddiursa picked up both of the dark moves. Because I started with just one female, unfortunately I can't raise a male `til it knows slash and make a new egg that knows both crunch and slash. He is closely related enough to all the other ursas I have and must not be interested in hooking up with them. I've tried half-siblings, but not kissing cousins. Yet.

Girl Trouble
I didn't consider `til well into the game that I needed to snag only female versions of the availible `mon if I eventually want to get the pre-evolved forms on Ruby/Sapphire. Once I finish, I'll have to start again from the beginning and hold out for the girls.

Jirachi Bonus Berries
I got Jirachi from the preorder bonus disk. It's a tough little `mon and I like it. The best part about getting it was that it was holding a berry I didn't have. The berry must be somewhat random as I got a Ganlon Berry on Sapphire and a Salac on Ruby. Both varieties take four days to produce new fruit. One day to sprout, one day to "get a little bigger," one day to blossom and a forth and final day to produce the fruit. I watered both as often as I could remember, and still only got two berries for every one I planted. Update:The berries seem less random now. Another Ganlon Berry on Sapphire and a Salac on Ruby.

Snorelaxless
I'm dissapointed that my favorite `mon doesn't even make an appearance in Colossuem. I'm still holding out hope that I can transfer them from R/B/Y or G/S/C when Pokémon Box is released.

Time Flutein'
I didn't use any of the three time flutes I picked up in the game hoping that I could somehow use them to summon Celibi to my team. I've purified all the shadow pokémon, and the flutes do nothing at the stone relic now. My contingency if this happened was just to trade them to my Sapphire cart for storage, but pokémon won't hold them. Looks like they'll be wasted.

Ruby/Sapphire
Got `em All
I caught RegiIce this morning, Monday May 26, 2003. He was the last one. The only things I can tell have changed with the game are that the guy in the LilyCove Hotel will display a certificate of completion for me, and I think my trainer card has turned green to copper colored. I think the biggest reward is that I get to stop playing. I love the game, and will go out and get the next version, etc--two months of spending too much time playing has burned me out for now. I look forward to having a real life again.

Catching Feebas
Alot of folks have been asking me how I caught febass. It is hard work, but the pattern I used was to catch six `mon from a water square on Route 119, then move to the next square until I caught one. I had to fish about 75 squares before I hit a feebas square. One you find them, they are easy to catch. Rumor has it that changing your profile saying or the trendy saying will re-randomize the spots, so I refrained from talking to anyone who might change it, including the reporters and the Berry Mistress. The spots are random, so yours probably won't be the same as mine. Just because folks are askin' I found my spot on the North end of the stream on Route 119 just above the waterfall near the Weather Center on the leftmost block.

Championship
I won the title on 4/20/3. Steven's Metacross is tough and he used a Full Retore on it at least five times during the battle. Flygon's Earthquake was the most effective move against him.

I learned the hard way that even if pokémon like you alot, when you trade them to another cartridge and trade them back, they forget you. Even if "you" are the original trainer and they loved you before. We all know pokémon are stronger/work harder when they love you. I got remined of this the hard way when leveled up my Dream Team, moved them over to my Ruby cartridge, and did a practice run on the Pokémon League, I kicked ass and leveled them up a few levels beating the elite four and Steven. Then I immediatly traded them back over to Sapphire (where I caught and raised them) and it was much more difficult to beat the League--even though they were higher levels. For example, on Ruby L58 Gurthie took out Metcross on the first Earthquake attack, on Sapphire L60 Gurthie could almost but not quite knock metacross out, and then Steven would use a full restore. I went to the empath lady and found out they didn't like or dislike me, and they weren't "used" to me. ie:they forgot me. It took a week or so of playing with them for them to love me again. Just a warning to those who trade, to not trade their favorites.

Post Championship:Steven left me a note and a Bedlum at his house. I now have access to the Battle Tower and sky tower. I have spotted Latias and Latios in the wild. There are sales at the LilyCove Department Store and the Energy Guru, and "service days" at the Game Corner.

Catching Latios/Latias
My first strategy was to use Crobat because Crobat is fast and can learn the "mean look" move to keep the Latis from fleeing. Bad idea, as Crobat is weak against the latis' psychic attacks. Turns out WoBuffet did real well for this. His innate "Shadow Tag" ability kept them from fleeing, and he is resistant to psychic attacks. I juiced him up with 10 zincs from the Energy Guru (on a sale day) to raise Wobuffet's special defense.

I was lucky enough to have random encounters with both latis so I could track them via the Pokédex. They seemingly randomize their location when you use fly, so I flew to LilyCove, checked the latis' location. If it was two areas/routes away I would move toward it, hoping it would move toward me. If not, then I fly back to LilyCove and check it's location again. Once I am in the same route as the latis, I put Wobuffet at the front of my party and wade thorough the talls grass `til I find it. I had both down to one bar of health, paralyzed, and used about 2 dozen ultraballs on each before I was able to catch them.

To catch the Lati I didn't find in the wild on each cart I used an Eon Ticket. I got the Eon Ticket on eBay, bought an eReader a EBX and scanned it in. Once I scanned it in, it told me to go see "Dad." Dad gave me the Eon Ticket in the game, and told me to go to Lilycove Ferry Station to use it. The ferry took me to South Island where I touched a stone in the middle of some water and summoned the other Lati. It is level 50 and carries Soul Dew. I used Thunder Wave to paralyze it, then used a Zangoose with False Swipe to knock it down to one HP. I had to use both moves several times as the Latis keep using Recover. I got the Latis on both versions with Ultraballs.

Silver Bullet
I finally managed to defeat 50 level 50 traininers in a row in the Battle Tower on June 21, 2004. I got a silver shield, the three `mon got ribbons, and I got a third star on my newly silvered trainer card. Woo Hoo.

ChilcoatSlacKing 038Normal
Chilcoat is named after my friend Brad. Chilcoat is furry all over, 6'8", 290#. Brad is only about 6"5', 250#, but from what I've seen at the gym, still furry all over. Chilcoat won a "Cute" contest on 4/17/3 and has a ribbon. Awww.
BroSalamence 189Dragon/Flying
Bro is the son of "Brodie" the first Bagon I caught in the Dragon Cave at Meteor Falls. I've raised him from an egg.
GurthieFlygon 118Ground/Dragon
Named after Sam Gurthie aka Cannonball of the X-tribes. It's about the goggles. His Earthquake attack kicks ass.
BurmesterKyogre 198Water
Burmester has nice ice attacks and a wicked strong special attack score that knocks out the Dragons the Elite Four have with one shot. Named after "Catfish" in the Abyss--he's the big red furry Daddy Bear that KOed the Psyco Navy Seal. ˇWoof!
PsyluckGardevoir 031Psychic
Psyluck is the second or third critter I caught on Sapphire. Named after Betsy Braddock of the X-Tribes, but reminds me more of Squirrel X. Not just because she's got the shine, but `cause she looked squirrely in her early incarnations, and now looks more Xtine.
InductepManectric 079Electric
I was raising a Plusie to be my electric guy, but didn't like him much. While I was raising Inductep from an Eletrike, he did really well for me. I took a shine to him, and bumped my Plusie "Sparky"
